My Blog, My Rules

I’ve decided to go off topic as much as I like. The topic being technology and, for the most part, Apple. This decision came to me in the pub where I realised I wanted to proclaim to the world that Leffe blonde is just awesome and makes a good pint. My “blog” will therefore hopefully be filled with things a bit more me and a lot less formal (hopefully I’ll just grab any topic I find interesting and post my thoughts on it as they pass through my head).

To keep you entertained, make sure to check out this Quicksilver guide at Lifehacker. Also, I was hoping for some feedback on the Apple tv - is it worth a purchase or not? I’m tempted to buy one, if not out of pure fan-boy-ism than anything else.

Is the Apple tv a waste of money or a hack away from pure computer-to-tv bliss?

I say buy the Apple TV and hack it to its core.
First, though, I suggest you go along and obtain the cracked version of the Apple TV OS and install it on your Mac just to get the feel of it a little bit — I did.

I have downloaded the Apple TV OS, however when i try to burn it out to CD it complains there’s not enough space.

How am I meant to install it? Also, what Mac did you install it onto?

I installed it on a PowerMac and a Macbook.
If you want to just dual boot, like I have done, so you still have your real OS X on there, you’ll need to partition your drive or add a new drive for its space. You cannot install another OS on the same partition as an OS already installed. Try Bootcamp, that may help. Parallels, even.
