My Twentieth (again)

Even though it was a couple of days ago, I’m still going to harp on about it. Why? Because I received some pretty cool presents. Along with all the usual money and smaller presents, I also received these from my mum:

Some birthday loot

I love receiving so many Apple-branded products in the mail, especially as presents.

The iPod nano was meant to be the “main” present. It has an engraving on the back, which reads, “Happy Birthday Steff Love Mum and Dave”. Unfortunately, I knew about the present before my birthday as my mum decided to order the presents with my Apple Store account. I got an email through listing all these things and what engraving she put on there. Still, it’s the thought that counts and the presents are awesome.

So for those who don’t know, the presents were:

  • .Mac - I wanted this mainly to keep my two Macs in sync; this is the perfect way of doing that! Oh and it gives you a lovely @mac.com email address.
  • iPod nano - 8Gb, black and engraved. Such a cool little device and a nice upgrade from my 4Gb silver iPod mini. I’ll be keeping the mini around though, been as it was my first Apple product!
  • iPod Universal Dock - to dock my iPod nano for recharging and syncing. There’s a slight problem with this product, as it works too well with my Apple Remote. Pressing the play button causes both iTunes to open and my iPod to start playing.
  • iPod Socks - cheap, cheerful and colourful. With different colours in a pack to match your mood and outfit, these socks have to be one of the coolest ways to protect your iPod.
  • NIKE + iPod Sports Kit - I wanted this purely because I’ve joined the gym. I didn’t buy this so that I could go running and compare my times or distances with anyone - I’m far too unfit for that. It’s just there so I can use it to monitor my treadmill times.

There we have it. Lovely loot for my birthday!

And just for family and friends (because the rest of you would be bored by this), here’s a picture of me and my housemates out for a meal on my birthday.

Meal with my housemates

It really was a great night - it made up for the sheer amount of work I had to do before I left and walking up to campus at three in the morning to hand that work in.

“And just for family and friends (because the rest of you would be bored by this)”

The rest of you? And there I was thinking the only people who read this were your family and friends. ;)
It’s a really great photo though, the alignment of the table and the desserts! They were really “more-ish”. But yeah I had a really good night, awesome food, drink and company. Just shame it was cut short by work.

I’m the guy on the left, for those who want to know.

Sorry I couldn’t be at the meal, Steffypants :( Glad you had a good day though. I owe you a drink and a card whenever we next get to go out. We’re overdue a catch up as it is! xx

‘NIKE + iPod Sports Kit’. Really Steff, do you expect us to beleive they will ever see daylight?

Seriously though, glad you had a good birthday. Hoping to bring your sis down sometime soon.

Hey! I will use it! At some point… hopefully…

I was hoping to use it to record my treadmill activity in the gym, since I take my iPod there anyway. I usually end up listening to various Podcasts but I thought some form of inspirational “Power Song” would help towards the end of my run (the Sports Kit thing allows you to press a button and it plays your pre-selected power song - something like Eye of the Tiger, I guess).

Well, if you and Becky are coming down soon - make sure I’m home. :P I finish Uni at the end of this week and have the next five weeks off after that. I’m not sure when exactly I’ll be home during that, though, as Becca is staying in Exeter to work. I will definitely be going home though - I need to chill out.
