Get an iPhone

While not actually at apple.com/getaniphone (because you will anyway, right?) the iPhone ads are up and available to watch over at Apple.com. The ads are entitled, ‘Never Been an iPod’, ‘How To’ and ‘Calamari’. The ads also confirm the release date of June 29.

iPhone touchscreen

The ‘Never Been an iPod’ ad just goes to clarify that there really hasn’t been an iPod that’s touchscreen that can turn sideways to view things. No, we know   and that’s our problem because some of us don’t actually want the iPhone, we just want an iPod with some of the capabilities of the iPhone!

The ‘How To’ ad shows off various features of the iPhone   music, email, web browser and, oh, a phone call. It’s amazing it makes calls to, eh?

The last ad, ‘Calamari’, shows off watching movies and the Google maps ability. Pretty cool, actually.

In more iPhone news, Macenstein was the first to report that there’s a slip up in the ‘How To’ iPhone ad. One moment there’s apparently 11 icons on the iPhone and the next there’s 12… go check out this post for more.

Finally in iPhone news for now, there will apparently, maybe, sorta be an iPhone SDK unveiled at WWDC. The speculated SDK may turn Mac OS X widgets into iPhone apps. More on this rumour over at Gizmodo.

I like the “Calamari” one most.

I wrote about the whole iPhone minus the phone idea here. I would like to hear what you think.

It looks like the guy on the ad has some problems selecting things correctly, as his thumb is a lot bigger than most of the icons sizes. Hopefully this won’t be a problem — but I’d still prefer to use a stylus instead of getting finger prints all over it!

You’d really rather use a stylus? That would put me off using this device! Though no force-feedback and smudges would probably irritate me about using the iPhone anyway.
